One can e-file his IT Return with or without a digital signature. Most people e-file without a digital signature. You are now required to e-Verify your return.

Procedures to follow post-filing if sending it via post:
1) Print the ITR-V on A4 size paper in black and white.
2) Sign the ITR-V.
3) Enclose the same in an A-4 size envelope and ensure it does not get folded.
4) Post (Normal or Speed Post only) to below-mentioned address:
Income Tax Department - CPC
Post Box No.1,
Electronic City Post Office,
Bangalore 560500, Karnataka.
5) It should reach CPC within 30 days of the e-filing date.
After receiving your ITR-V, Income-tax Department will send an e-mail acknowledging the receipt of the signed copy of the ITR-V. This is your acknowledgement. Please keep it in the records. Your e-filing process is now complete from your end.

Once you have filed your return using a digital signature, you are not required to do any further action. Income-tax Department will send an e-mail acknowledging the receipt of a signed copy of ITR-V. This is your acknowledgement. Please keep it in the records.
