Any capital asset other than equity or preference shares, securities such as debentures listed on a recognized stock exchange, or Units of the UTI or units of Mutual Fund specified under section 10(23D), Zero-coupon Bonds; which is held by a person for less than 36 months before the date of it’s transferred is a short term capital asset. (less than 12 months in case of equity or preference shares, securities such as debentures listed on a recognized stock exchange, or Units of the UTI or units of Mutual Fund specified under section 10(23D), Zero-coupon Bonds.)
