The IFSC (Indian Financial System Code) is an alphanumeric code containing 11 characters. It is given to each bank branch that takes part in the basic electronic systems i.e. RTGS (Real Time Gross Settlement) or NEFT (National Electronic Funds Transfer).
You can find IFS Code from your chequebook as shown below or you could get it from your bank branch or bank customer care.

MICR code (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) is a 9-digit number that can be found on your chequebook.
