Awaiting Acknowledgment (ITR-V) is a status that comes post an Income-tax return is prepared and payment is done (if not in free plan) by the user on myITreturn.com
Various awaiting acknowledgment status are explained below.
Status 1: Your tax-return has been sent for filing
This status remains for a while till the time your Income-tax Return is submitted to Income-tax Department server and they respond with the result. However during peak tax filing season sometimes this status stays till 24 hours of confirmation or more.
Users can escalate their situation by submitting a request from help.myitreturn.com in case of delay.
Status 2: Your return has been selected for review by a tax expert.
To ensure accuracy of return filing, certain checks have been implemented in our system which takes some types of return filings into a manual intervention process. Once a return comes for expert review, one of our tax expert verifies each and every detail entered and evaluates for the correctness of data.
If any query arises in his mind, he will connect with the user for clarification through E-mail or Phone call. Post this, when the tax expert is assured that nothing is wrong in the return filing, he approves the return filing and is submitted to Income-tax Department.
Status 3: Some issue with your tax-filing!
Return was submitted to Income-tax Department and has resulted in a failure. Common reasons could be wrong date of birth provided, name not matching as per pan, etc.
We send a mail to user to revert with correct information. Once user reverts with the information, we update details in return filing and re-submit to Income-tax Department.
