Why do I need to provide bank details while filing Income-tax return?

Bank details of all accounts are mandatory for the filing of returns. Also, in case of a refund, the same will be credited to the bank accounts you gave while filing the return. The bank details required are:

2. Bank name
3. Accounts Type (Savings/Current)
4. Account Number
