How to Upload Form 26AS on myITreturn.com
Form 26AS contains details of tax deducted or collected at source, advance tax, self-assessment tax and certain other tax-related information available against your PAN. You can upload the downloaded Form 26AS file on myITreturn.com and review the imported entries before proceeding with your Income Tax Return.
Before you begin: Download the latest Form 26AS file from the Income Tax e-Filing portal and save it on your device.
Step 1: Log in to myITreturn.com
Visit myITreturn.com and log in using your registered account credentials.
Step 2: Select or add the taxpayer
Select the existing taxpayer profile for whom you want to file the return. To file for a new taxpayer, click the option to add a new member and complete the required details.
Step 3: Open “Income from Bank Interest”
From the income details section, click Income from Bank Interest.
Step 4: Click “Upload Form 26AS”
On the bank-interest screen, click the Upload Form 26AS option.
Step 5: Select and upload the file
Choose the Form 26AS file saved on your device, and then click the Upload button.
Important: Upload the latest file downloaded for the correct PAN and relevant financial year.
Step 6: Review the uploaded entries
After the file is processed, the available entries from Form 26AS will be displayed on the screen.
Step 7: Modify or remove incorrect entries
Check each imported entry carefully. Use the available edit or delete options to modify or remove an entry where required.
Review required: Uploading Form 26AS does not remove the need to verify the imported information. Compare the entries with your supporting documents before filing.
Step 8: Review the computation and proceed
Open the summary or computation section and review the income, tax credits and final tax calculation. Once the details are correct, continue with the remaining filing and submission steps.
Form 26AS and AIS are not the same
Form 26AS mainly reflects tax-related credits and specified information, while the Annual Information Statement may contain a wider range of financial transactions. Review both statements while preparing your return.

What to do if Form 26AS is not uploading
If you are unable to upload Form 26AS or the imported entries are not displayed, check the following:
- Confirm that the Form 26AS belongs to the correct PAN.
- Make sure you selected the correct assessment year while downloading it.
- Upload the original downloaded file without changing its contents.
- Check that you have selected the correct taxpayer profile on myITreturn.
- Download a fresh copy of Form 26AS and try uploading it again.
- Ensure that your internet connection remains stable during the upload.
