How do I correct Name in PAN and in Aadhaar?

Scenario 1 : Wrong Name in Aadhaar card.

• Correcting Name in Aadhaar:

  1. Download the Aadhaar Enrolment and Update Form: Get the form from the UIDAI website.

  2. Visit Aadhaar Enrolment Centre: Go to your nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra or enrolment centre.

  3. Fill in the Necessary Details: Complete the form and provide it to the executive.

  4. Submit Proof of Identity: Submit the original proof of identity document. The executive will take a xerox and return the original to you.

  5. Payment of Fees: Pay a fee of Rs. 50 for updating your name.

  6. Receive Acknowledgement Slip: You will get an acknowledgement slip with an Update Request Number (URN) to check the status of your update.

Scenario 2 : Wrong Name in PAN card:

• Correcting Name in PAN:
  a. Visit the Official PAN Correction Website: Go to the NSDL e-Gov portal or the UTIITSL website.

  b. Choose PAN Correction Application: Select the option for changes or corrections in existing PAN data.

  c. Fill in the PAN Correction Form (Form 49A): Provide the necessary details and upload supporting documents.

  d. Payment of Fees: Pay the required fee for the correction.

  e. Submission and Acknowledgement: Submit the form and receive an acknowledgement slip. You will receive the updated PAN card after processing.
